We recently set about sourcing our own free-range young calf on a farm in the Eastern Cape. We saved him from the feedlot, destined to become an average steak drenched in basting sauce. He is the lucky one among his peers.
The good news is that we have kept some of the best meat of this young calf for our first WINE DINNER OF 2015:

The Fledge & co produce some of the most exciting, individualistic and often unusual wines in the country. But for good measure, we will be mixing in some fab wines, a port and a brandy from Boplaas too. Boplaas dates back to 1880, so we have a glorious comparison of old and new styles. Presented by Leon Coetzee and Margaux Nel, we suggest you hear them and taste the wines before they becomes too famous and don’t want to hang around ordinary folks anymore. We predict international acclaim in the near future, so a great opportunity to buy these wines while they’re utterly underpriced yet delicious.
